The Living
Classroom
On the road since 2016. Two films in cinemas. Now: the third journey — three daughters, the world as their classroom.
Currently in Croatia · Day 622 on the road · Next stop: Kazakhstan
In 2016, Timo missed his daughter's first crawl. He was at work. That evening, they made a decision that changed everything.

No more iPad at breakfast. Not because we like banning things. But because a screen-free morning is where something different begins.
"These days our kids barely ask for the iPad anymore. They ask: What are we doing next?"

and that's enough for a lifetime.
Why We Do This
In 2016 I missed my daughter's first crawl. That's when we decided: time together is the greatest gift. It turned out to be the best decision we ever made.
The Family
Timo (filmmaker, two theatrical films), Salima, and three daughters: 10, 6, and 3. Every one of them their own person. All five of them the main characters.
The Route
Germany, Morocco, West Africa — now heading toward the Balkans, Caucasus, Central Asia and Pakistan. Final destination: China. The third film is being made along the way.
